Acerca de esta escucha
There is a troubled town nestled on the border of Shropshire and Powys. Steeped in folklore, domain of ghosts, it is witch haunted Wendlelow. Pity those who dwell there. Here is a collection of interconnected tales, ghostly, gothic and monstrous, so curl up by the fire, dim the lights, and prepare to be horrified.

Chilling and Immersive Masterpiece
Fireside Horror was such a chilling and immersive experience for listeners who enjoy spine-tingling tales with a strong atmospheric presence. As a listener, you’re immediately drawn into a world where the lines between the supernatural and reality blur, and the eerie ambiance is accentuated by the excellent narration.
Aubrey Parsons the narrator, is highly effective in bringing the story to life through his dynamic narration. His voice work is nuanced, clear, and perfectly suited to the tone of a horror novel. The pacing is spot on, allowing moments of tension to unfold slowly while providing relief in more introspective segments. Sheldon’s ability to switch between different voices for the various characters helps to distinguish them, making it easy for listeners to follow the plot without confusion. His deep, gravelly voice is particularly effective during more intense moments, enhancing the suspense and fear that permeate the story. At times, the slight variation in pitch and cadence adds depth, ensuring that every scene is both engaging and appropriately ominous.
The story itself is a masterful blend of suspense, mystery, and horror. Fireside Horror taps into the primal fear of the unknown, creating an atmosphere that’s both foreboding and immersive. The author's vivid descriptions and attention to detail shine through, particularly in the way the setting—whether it's a desolate forest or an eerie, candlelit room—comes to life. The audiobook format, with Sheldon’s narration, allows these descriptions to feel larger than life, as if you are sitting by the fire yourself, listening to a ghost story that promises to keep you on edge.
P.A. Sheldon does a fantastic job of crafting a slow-burn narrative that builds in tension without feeling rushed. The plot unfolds methodically, leaving enough room for character development and small hints that keep you guessing without giving away too much too soon. The pacing of the audiobook matches the rising tension perfectly, with moments of calm before the storm. This allows the horror to settle into the listener’s mind gradually, creating a lingering sense of dread long after the story ends.
Fireside Horror Of P. A. Sheldon and narrated by Aubrey Parsons is a gripping and atmospheric horror audiobook that excels in both storytelling and narration. Sheldon’s deep, gravelly voice enhances the suspense, with effective pacing and distinct character voices. His narration builds tension, creating a chilling ambiance that draws listeners into the story.
The plot unfolds slowly, with well-developed characters whose reactions to eerie events heighten the sense of dread. The vivid descriptions and subtle sound effects further immerse listeners in the eerie world, keeping them on edge throughout.
The production quality is top-notch, with crisp sound and seamless transitions. Overall, Fireside Horror offers a compelling, slow-burn horror experience that fans of atmospheric tales will enjoy.
Highly recommended!!!

It was ok
The stories were ok, I couldn't really tell when one ended and a new story started, and had a hard time staying engaged with the content. The narrator was ok.
