The escape and journey of Leon Courtney. I felt like I was walking through it with him.

That it had to end this is probably the third time I’ve reread Wilbur Smith’s books, but the first time on tape and I love it

The detail and historical accuracy

This story is well written. Action packed with suspense, the war scenes are vivid there are funny and heartfelt moments this book was worth the weight and I am sad to have finished it because this was the last Wilbur Smith book that I haven’t read, I guess I’ll have to start over and listen to them again.

Great story poor narration

The narrator was terrible and butchered the Afrikaans parts. Story was great. Regarding the narration…Wilbur would be ashamed.
