She blames him for stealing her customers. He swears she sabotages his chocolate. Four years of rivalry is about to ignite into something neither of them can control.

Imani Brooks left her corporate life in Atlanta to craft delicate glass ornaments at Munich's legendary Christkindlmarkt. Rafe Dumont makes small-batch artisan chocolate three stalls down, and they have spent four years turning their rivalry into performance art. But when the market announces this season will be its last, Imani and Rafe are forced into an uneasy alliance to save the place they both call home.

Between scheming investors, suspicious fire marshals, and a festival committee determined to let tradition die, their sharp-tongued bickering starts sounding less like warfare and more like foreplay. The problem? Imani swore she would never risk her independence for anyone again. And Rafe is terrified of being the Dumont who lets the family legacy burn.

But when you fight side by side with someone who challenges you, infuriates you, and makes you feel more alive than you have in years, the real question is not whether you will fall. It is whether you are brave enough to stop fighting it.

This story was definantly multicultural. I appreciated how the story went into the cultural significance of the character's individual crafts. Imani, as an African-American expat living in Munich, used what she learned from an Italian glass artist to make and sell her wares from her stall. She and Rafe, an Albanian-French chocolatier, lead the charge when their Christkindlmarkt is threatened to be turned into a luxury retail and resident space by an investor. The book deserved to be read by actual narrators, but the AI was tolerable. I only wish that the romance had some spice. These two barely kissed.

A sweet wholesome story
