If there was ever to be a category in the Guinness Book of World Records for, Person Fired from the Highest Number of Jobs, then standing at the summit of this dubious list, you would find the name of Barry McGuire.

In the past nine months alone, McGuire had been fired from thirteen different jobs - all of which had been upon the very first day.

Unbeknownst to the companies who hire him, McGuire is playing an outrageous and secret game to see how many jobs he can get fired from in the most outlandish ways.

When McGuire starts a new job for a once-popular toy company, he sees getting sacked as a formality. Yet, through a series of remarkable events, getting fired from this place isn't as straightforward as it first appears.

Are his repeated failures to get fired just bad luck? Is it destiny? Or are there darker forces at play?

Fire McGuire is an unconventional black comedy from the irreverent mind of Steve McElhenny

Barry McGuire enjoys playing his personal game getting hired at a job, then fired in record speed. He has his game rules and a code that he won’t violate. Until he meets his match.I had hopes that Barry would finally abandon his game when he was honest with his team at the toy company. But then the unexpected twist ending… The characters are very likeable and relatable and the writing is great. There are lot of humorous parts in the story that reminded me of my working days and why I love being retired. The narration was outstanding.
