An Adventure in Coming of Age

Dee is only a few weeks away from completing high school, but is mysteriously called to stay with her grandmother for the weekend, in a distant suburb of Chicago. Her grandmother is an attorney who hopes to talk with her granddaughter about her upcoming rights as a young adult. But as the visit unfolds, secrets and hidden dangers involving family, friends, and society are uncovered. And Dee ponders how Illinois, as the "Land of Lincoln" and home to four US presidents, could also be the home to four imprisoned governors. Is life just a jungle with predators lurking everywhere? Or does it offer gifts and wisdom, without which we could not thrive? As we hear calls for unity, this story explores our jungle and offers guidance and inspiration.
