A Beautiful Memoir

I loved that Malala Yousafzai read her memoir because it made it very personal, emotional and beautiful for me. I laughed, cried and felt as if she was telling me her story directly.

Malala is all of us

I don’t typically ready autobiographies. But after hearing her on a podcast, I knew I wanted to read this book.
I love that we heard this story through her own voice. She writes with such honesty and detail that we are with her on all of the ups and downs of her life after the shooting. We get to know her friends and her family, her anxieties, her annoyances and her joys. She is disarmingly funny. Malala, and this book, are a gift to all of us. I highly recommend it!

Passion and Struggles

Malala’s passion for her own higher education and speaking engagements took a toll on her mental health. Malala is the only source of family income. Navigating Oxford’s studies and social life was a struggle. Surgery over many years to reconstruct her face then finding love on her terms not her parents. Malala narrates her journey from that fateful day on the school bus. An amazing woman!

Good read for any young person facing tough times

I appreciated the honesty and vulnerability. The pressure Malala was under at such a young age was unimaginable. The worst part was listening to her describe the stress and worry about what others think.
College is hard enough without the world watching your every move.

She is a legend

She is an inspiration. I enjoyed learning about her journey to adulthood. I enjoyed her first book, and I knew this book would not disappoint
