everything about this collection is stunning, but to also hear it in the authors own voice and at her own pace was the icing on the cake. loved every bit of this!

New Favorite Poetry!

If you are tired of the old archetypal stories of damsels in distress and princess locked in towers, or witches cast as evil, then this book is for you! Each poem/story is poignant and powerful, rewriting the stories of the past and making way for a new paradigm to emerge in the collective consciousness.

Really lovely

I'd walk & listen & mentally dog-ear many pages with love the pictures she painted with words.
If you love fractured fairy tales, this is a good one. I loved alternative viewpoints and the readers cadence.
it takes a minute to understand the structure of the book. I do wish it maybe read the number, but I also think it could be distracting because their so short.

Powerful

Within the first couple chapters I had to pause the book. Words hit home and left me feeling raw in a way that I felt a little less worthless.
This whole book is a reminder that we exist outside of our relationships to men. That there is more to us than that.

Often I would have to pause to just breathe and sit with this newly spun idea of an old tale.
It is a book I will register to.

Simply Magical

I was completely enchanted listening to "Fierce Fairytales: Poems and Stories to Stir Your Soul" by Nikita Gill. Her dark and haunting reimaginings of classic fairytales transform princesses and damsels in distress into strong, ferocious, sylvan beings infused with wild, arcane power and the primeval magic of womanhood. I LOVED it!

Nikita Gill fuses myth, magic, allegory. I will listen to this often. Looking forward to your next batch of poems.

Utterly Amazing

This was a fantastic retelling of the fairy tales we’re spoon fed from birth. Take everything you were told, shake it up, and tell it how it actually went. Hot damn, this was amazing.

Beautifully written!

Its amazing! Its a modern retelling of fairytales as poetry. It makes you sad, makes you motivated, and makes you think. It took me a little to get through the audiobook but it was definitely worth it and it was a good read. I’m glad that i did not DNF this book. It was really good and the narrator kept you listening, thinking, and gave you a new mindset for the fairy tails

I was not prepared!

I was just looking for a quick listen as I was working. I was not prepared for how absolutely beautiful and honest these poems are. There were moments where I need to stop and cry and other moments I felt like she had looked into my life and put a magnifying glass to my insecurities.

I loved how she would take simple fairy tales and give a perspective for each character. Other times it is very clearly about something current.

Absolutely gorgeous and highly recommended!
