Bad narration, poor audio, felt like a preview

This may have been a better experience reading it myself. The narrator didn't make it very easy to tell characters apart, and frequently the audio would speed up when you could tell the narrator was trying to speak slower. During what should have been slow, dramatic, intense moments the audio mixing would speed up making it go by way too quickly and distort the narration.

The book's pacing was also unpleasant. There simply wasn't enough time to get to know the characters, or care about what happens to them or their relationship. It felt like a rushed prequel that is supposed to briefly tell how these people met if anything. But even then I would be very disappointed as a reader with this standalone product for that purpose. It could have been summarized in a much shorter chapter at the beginning of a longer story, or mentioned as a flashback during a longer story.

I don't recommend wasting time listening to this. If you really want to experience this rushed, incomplete story I recommend reading the text yourself at least instead of trying to listen to the poor audio.
