The reason for the publication of this book is twofold. First, to put into a documentary account of the family stories that I have heard in my lifetime so that future generations will have knowledge of them. Second, to document the many family stories that I have told over my lifetime about actual events in my life.

The historical family stories are intriguing, entertaining, and I love listening to a book where the author is also the narrator. His voice is enjoyable to listen to; it is authentic and full of expression. I felt like one of Robert's kids, sitting with him in person listening to him tell stories.
