The book is about a little girl who is shaped by a childhood of false teachings and dysfunction on many levels. She was being groomed by someone she trusted. In the beginning, the deception was not understood as such. She was only a small child being exposed to things at least a decade before she should. Nevertheless, it was an education that she gladly accepted. Why wouldn’t she, being a child that was naturally and generally acceptable? Growing older, she became apathetic about the lessons that she was getting. Moreover, she was the only one learning the curriculum. Over time, she became detached. It was her way of getting through the constant ordeal of being sexually assaulted for so long. As time went on, the physical ordeal of her childhood came to an end. However, the mental and emotional effects of all the suppressed feelings and fallacious teachings carried on throughout her adolescence and into adulthood. Looking for an escape from the life that she had, she was driven to have the life that was stolen from her. This journey led to far worse situations than she expected. Some of which were permanently damaging. Amid a life full of emotional challenges, an unexpected circumstance presented itself. It was life-changing. Changing course, she began to dispel the lies of her past. She found a new focus. She was striving towards success and emotional healing just in time to get the worse news of her life. During this time, she realized that there were lessons that she learned as a child that she didn’t realize. When she thought she understood, in actuality, she was not ready to understand until tragedy struck. The challenge was to heal from the hurts and stop the cycle. Overcoming the past mistakes and transforming into a woman of dignity and respect, she was able to find redemption. Despite the horrible things stemming from her harrowing upbringing, victory and love were at hand. It is nothing short of amazing how that little girl was transformed.
