Pastor and author Jeff Jerina does a fantastic job in his book Faith Without Fear to bridge the gap between the what and the how of evangelism. Mr. Jerina puts evangelism into a perspective that is comprehensible for both new and matured believers alike and positively correlates sharing the gospel with one’s own personal story of finding their faith and forgiveness through the acceptance of Christ as their Lord and Savior. Through not only Faith Without Fear, but also along with the other resources that Mr. Jerina makes available to his readers, it is a “biblically based” journey of self-reflection and breaking barriers down in order to easily open up to the woman sitting next you on the bus, the man filling his tank next to you at the local gas station, or the group of high schoolers going door-to-door raising money for their senior trip to share the redeeming love that is offered through Jesus Christ.
I read Mr. Jerina’s Faith Without Fear shortly after going through a deep depression. I had been stuck in many ways, but specifically my faith and personal spirituality had suffered in wondering what my purpose as a Christian was in the world.
