Alissa and Sarah are sisters, and they live on a long, dry, dusty road called Curtis Road. Alissa, as the oldest, does not really like hanging out with her sister. However, one day, her sister finds out a secret. Alissa discovers that a simple prank has let her little sister discover a secret. The secret that fairies really do exist.
However, there is a problem. The key to the fairies' happiness has been stolen, and unless Alissa and Sarah can help them get it back, sadness will spread to outside of the Fairy Kingdom. So together, they go on an adventure that is equally a journey of discovery.
Danger awaits them at every turn as the evil Snufflewumps now are guarding the key. Alissa and Sarah’s decision to help might turn out to be a huge mistake. The fairies of Curtis Road might never get the key back, and Alissa and Sarah may be trapped forever in a world that they do not want to be in.
