The United States has survived clueless presidential administrations before. But no matter how enormous the crisis, the Great Depression, Vietnam, Watergate, or Monica Lewinsky's thong, America always comes out looking like, well, America.
This time, however, something's different. Things aren't just screwed up; they're f!$d up beyond all recognition. Welcome to F.U.B.A.R., a hilarious and scathing satire of the American Right's bad behavior, by the creators of Air America's Majority Report.
If you're a liberal who's somehow not panicked over the state of our Union, or if you're a Republican who's just having voter's remorse, or if you think what's happening to the country is just politics as usual, F.U.B.A.R. will open your eyes to our current national nightmare. With completely unfair and unbalanced analysis, authors Sam Seder and Stephen Sherrill take listeners on a whirlwind tour of what's left of the United States, exposing the truth about the Right's blueprint for total domination, over your money, your mind, your sex life, and even your place in the afterlife (yes, they have a plan for that, too).
Along the way, they'll answer your most pressing questions, like:
- I'm gay. Can I still be a Republican?
- Do I need to own my own congressman, or is a time share okay?
- Is New York Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman's mustache, in fact, the sign of the Beast?
- I thought we ran the media. What happened?
Finally, Seder and Sherrill offer a helpful and hopeful vision for a future that remarkably doesn't look like a cross between the Matrix and Mayberry. F.U.B.A.R. is the wake-up call America has been waiting to receive, and it will probably be wiretapped.

This book starts out to be a serious progressive evaluation of the current administration and it's connection to the fundamentalist right and ends up being another Majority Report show on any given evening, replete with continuous right-wing bashing and all the on-air staff participating in the recording process.
I should say that I am a long time progressive and have no love for the current administration but, I was looking for Sam's insights on this administration's performance based on his extensive experience, research, and interviews with various political pundits.
Don't take this book seriously

F.U.B.A.R. chronicles the misadventures of the hypocritical pseudo religious wackos in their efforts to enrich themselves while they try to take America back to the 16th century.
I enjoyed the book. The phone calls to unsuspecting right wing organizations are really gut-busters. I could have done without some of the theatrical introductions to sections and sidebars, but being a regular listener I recognized their origin.
The timing for this book could not be better with Bill Frist and and his silly cronies parading their genuine homophobia and mock flag-arsonphobia for all to see.
If you agree with the representation of Republicans in this review then you will probably enjoy F.U.B.A.R.

Personally, I can't stand more than a few minutes of this tripe.
While lamenting the moronity of Americans, these idiots indulge in a level of slapstick humor that none but the most brutally stupid could enjoy for long.
Makes you wonder if choosing sides is impossible, since bizarre ideas seem to dominate both conservative and liberal camps.
Way, way, WAY over the top!!!

Talking about how the right doesn't use science to make its case but just makes it up as they go along. I had to listen to one of the authors talk about science from the point of view of a stupid sounding right winger. I don't know why the facts weren't discussed. Instead, it was just what they imagine the right would have said. Where was the science? They were talking about science. Most of the first chapter is the author using a odd sounding right wing voice to denote stupidity of the dumb ol' right wing people dinosaurs. A whole CD of that voice. Sarcasm, dumb voices, failing to make a point. And I got this book because I believe in the topics that they discuss. We share the same point of view, mostly. I could not disagree with them because they made no real points that could stand on their own. Fluff. Whiny. Sarcastic. Self gratifying Fluff.
Sarcasm abounds
