Ey Oğul bundan yaklaşık 900 yıl önce yaşamış büyük İslam âlimi İmam Gazalinin bir öğrencisine cevap niteliğinde yazmış olduğu öğüt, tavsiye ve açıklamalardan oluşmaktadır. Öğrencisi, mektubunda bugün de birçok gencimiz için sorun olan hangi bilgilerin öğrenilmesi gerektiğini, doğru yola nasıl ve kimlerin rehberliğinde erişileceğiyle ilgili sorular sormuş, ondan tavsiyeler istemiştir.
