divinely inspired words to nourish the soul

It is rare to find authors who stand firmly on the words of God. John clearly does this through his use of scripture. He is also skilled at illustrating biblical concepts. I have read some of these scriptures over and over again, but it took John's obedience to God's plan for them to be revealed to me.

Yes, All of his books are amazing and insightful. He points out things in the bible I've never gotten before.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Grace is when you get something you don't deserve. Mercy is when you don't get something you do deserve.

Inspiring AND informative!

This is some really foundation stuff when it comes to being effective in your ministry. I very much liked how often he quotes scripture, though it troubles me a bit how much he seems to lean on The Message "translation"... seems likely that he makes that choice simply because of how well it fits literarily with his writing style, which is very conversational and makes profound topics very easy to comprehend.

My main gripe would be the number of times that the audiobook leaves out chapter/verse references when quoting scripture (guessing the text copy has footnotes?)... he includes that info a lot, but he also quotes scripture a lot, so the missing references do add up.

Overall, HIGHLY recommended to any believer. Even if you don't agree with everything, this will expand your spiritual journey - and it caused me to spend more time in the word, which is always a good thing!

Great Teaching

Great teaching on power we've been given by grace through faith in Christ to live victorious in this present time. A lot is covered in this book. Definitely must listen to it twice to get the fullness of this in depth teaching.
