I really enjoyed listening because I have been feeling estranged from God. I asked God where the source of my anger was coming from and I realize that comes from the relationship with my earthly father. A lot of revelation in this book. I really enjoyed the chapter 8.

Great book!

This is a book that should be embraced and read by everyone. There is so much brokenness in our lives, in our homes, our schools, our communities and our country. This brokenness stems from not knowing and experiencing God’s love as our Father. Mark shows us in this book how to begin the personal healing from this brokenness. The father’s letter to a son and daughter at the end of the book was very touching and could be life transforming. I do not see this as a book to be rushed through, but rather as one to be read frequently and thoroughly. Thank you Mark.

And excellent starting place

This is an excellent book and a great starting point for the work of Mark De Jesus. It's a quick read but it's very dense and presents many of the core concepts of the path to heart healing. The author is exceptional, he speaks from his own experience. It's self-help that proposes realistic paths to growth, using examples, questions, kindness, and honest enthusiasm. He is very astute in breaking down problems and describing the process of growth in a gentle and encouraging way. He doesn't dismiss people, he works hard to help people in their heart-healing journey. He is acutely aware of mental health issues and is trauma-informed in his teachings. I recommend this book and all the materials created by this author to anyone who was seeking to deepen their spiritual life or further their recovery. It's obvious this is based on solid research and vast amounts of personal experience, and good Christian doctorine. His works are infallible as an honest, comforting voice. His audiobooks and his youtube channel are excellent as his sincerity shines through in his voice and he's an excellent narrator. When I was stuck for years in my twelve steps, mental health, and Christian journey and had given up on healing, this was the author that could bring me hope.

For someone who missed out on being affirmed by their dad, this will give vocabulary and an example of a good father and how much God is that good Father.
