Explore EXODUS, a new sci-fi action-adventure RPG coming soon from Archetype Entertainment featured in this epic novel from legendary author Peter F. Hamilton.

Forty thousand years ago, humanity fled a dying Earth. Traveling in massive arkships, these brave pioneers spread out across the galaxy to find a new home. After traveling thousands of light-years, one fleet of arkships arrived at Centauri, a dense cluster of stars with a vast array of potentially habitable planets. The survivors of Earth signaled to the remaining arkships that humanity had finally found its new home among the stars.

Thousands of years later, the Centauri Cluster has flourished. The original settlers have evolved into advanced beings known as Celestials and divided themselves into powerful Dominions. One of the most influential is that of the Crown Celestials, an alliance of five great houses that controls vast areas of Centauri. As arkships continue to arrive, the remaining humans and their descendants must fight for survival against overwhelming odds or be forced into serving the Crown Dominion.

Among those yearning for a better life is Finn, for whom Earth is not a memory but merely a footnote from humanity’s ancient history. Born on one of the Crown Dominion worlds, Finn has known nothing but the repressive rule of the Celestials, though he dreams of the possibility of boundless space beyond his home.

When another arkship from Earth, previously thought lost, unexpectedly arrives, Finn sees his chance to embrace a greater destiny and become a Traveler—one of a group of brave heroes dedicated to ensuring humanity’s future by journeying into the vast unknown of distant space.

Loved this one. Can’t wait for the next installment. Lots of high energy and drama. Hamilton is a master of huge doses of deep tech with excellent storytelling and plot weaving.

Hamilton at his best

The way Peter makes you inhabit the world is enjoyable. And in the end big thing happen as well.

The story draws you in and holds you. The plot is dramatic and characters are compelling.

Gripping story line.

Deserving of an instant 2nd read, especially in the absence of a new title from Reynolds.

Great book

Not John Lee best performance. Sometimes it was hard to distinguish which character was talking because they sounded a little too similar.

The complexity of the story and the characters

You have to skip the first hour or so of the book. It contains a lot of fluff, information dumps, and meaningless descriptions. The names and made-up words in the first hour could all be Greek for as much as I understood anything. I almost returned the book, but when I got past that, the story was quite good. The characters were well fleshed out and the dialog was well written. im looking forward to the next one.

Quite good

Great read. There’s enough of an interesting plot. Bit of a lag in the action as it turns from action to political intrigue, which in my opinion goes on way too long.

Good but drawn out

Ahhh... another Peter F. Hamilton creation. Loved it! Great character arcs, setting and continuity that completely immerses the reader into the story. John Lee's excellent and dynamic narration is icing on the cake.

Engaging and detailed storytelling

First off, I really enjoyed this story, but it was really hard to get started in the beginning. The story has a lot of moving parts to it and got very frustrated and yelling in my trucking ok where are you going to take this story it was all over the place. There is a lot of politics played and all these hidden agendas that were being playing out. The last 4 hours of the book was finally putting all these political moves and agendas in assemblance making the story come together. I felt the climax of the ending went way too fast in which I lost track and re-listened that last two chapters in the book to make sense of things. It was a great ending to this story but a little rushed I thought. I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see how the celestrials and the humans play out in this universe.

Very Complex story

I enjoyed the story and reading, overall I would say the story was very thick in descriptions locations, as well as characters. I almost got lost, but the reading called me back. Particularly when I took into account time dilation. it helped to keep me sane.

Very thick.
