Advice for Parents of teens

I found this audiobook really helpful as a parent trying to understand how to better support my teen. The explanations are clear and the strategies are realistic, especially around time management and dealing with procrastination. I appreciated that the suggestions are easy to follow and based on real-life situations. It gave me a better understanding of what my teenager might be going through and how I can respond more effectively. Definitely worth a listen if you're looking for ways to help your teen build stronger habits.

For parents and teens feeling disorganized

This audiobook offered the kind of calm, actionable advice I’ve been craving as a parent. The chapter on structured routines (I think it was around the first third of the book) gave me a few tweaks that made a huge difference—especially the part about letting your teen co-create the structure so they don’t feel micromanaged. I also appreciated how the book never came off as judgmental or unrealistic. Ellie Benson keeps the tone practical and compassionate, which made it easy to listen to without feeling overwhelmed. I’ve already used a couple of the strategies to help my teen stick to his homework schedule without me hovering. If you’re tired of nagging and want real tools that actually feel doable, this one’s a win.

Great for mentors, teachers, anyone around teens

Listened out of curiosity for work, stayed because it’s genuinely helpful. I really like the calm tone and the way this breaks down things like procrastination and time blindness. It’s aimed at parents, sure, but honestly I found myself taking notes for my own life too.

Guide for both Teens and parents

Teenagers can learn many things. As a teen, I needed to plan for my future career. My school did not provide all the necessary tools to help me decide what I wanted to be. I love my parents, who did not speak English. Still, they always taught me important principles to learn, get an education, organize my ideas to improve my time management, and face whatever challenges might arise. We are not alone, and I’m happy that this audiobook exists.

Just what I was looking for

I listened to A Practical Parent’s Guide to Helping Teenagers... and honestly, it was a relief. It didn’t make me feel like a bad parent—it actually felt encouraging. I liked that it gave super doable strategies instead of just theory, and it didn’t assume every teen is the same. The chapter on routines and impulse control hit home for my kid. So glad I got a copy of this one!

Simple Tips That Actually Work

I got this audiobook because my niece has been having a tough time staying on top of things, and I wanted to understand how to better support her. Even though I’m not a parent, the advice was super practical and easy to apply. It gave me a clearer picture of what she might be dealing with, and I’ve already had a few better conversations with her because of it. I also ended up learning a lot about my own habits—especially around time management and planning. There were a few moments where I thought, “Wow, I do that too.” It’s a great resource for anyone who wants to be more supportive and organized, whether you’re helping a teen or just trying to level up yourself.

Helped My Teen Stay on Track

I got this for my teenage son who struggles with staying organized and finishing homework. It’s been a solid resource—straightforward and easy to follow. We’ve been using a few of the tools together, and I’ve already seen improvements in how he manages his time. He’s less stressed and actually remembers his assignments now. I wish I had this sooner—it’s been a great help for both of us without being overwhelming.
