Since ancient times the promised land has been a place of testing, revival, and fellowship with the God of Israel. God promised His land to the Jewish people as an everlasting possession as part of an eternal covenant He made with their forefather, Abraham. After two exiles and centuries of dispersion, millions of Jewish people have been drawn back to the land—and since the establishment of the modern State of Israel on May 14, 1948, millions of Christians have been welcomed as pilgrims to experience it for themselves.
Every Generation’s Story: 75 Years of American Christian Engagement with Israel follows the unique experiences of 18 American Christians representing 5 generations who responded to God’s call to go to Israel—a country in the middle of the volatile Middle East and often on the verge of war. Some arrived soon after Israel declared statehood, while other younger pilgrims only recently experienced Israel for the first time. But no matter when they came or their level of biblical knowledge, they had one thing in common: going to the Land of Israel forever changed their lives.
Their engagement with the land and people of Israel impacted their lives so deeply that the Jewish State’s story became part of theirs. But more astonishing, their stories are part of Israel’s. After listening to their experiences, you will learn how profound the Land of Israel is and will undoubtedly want to make that trip of a lifetime and write your own chapter in this extraordinary story.
