Amanda Price never dreamed her obsession with Pride & Prejudice would become reality—until she steps through a mysterious door and finds herself in the middle of Jane Austen’s Regency world. Suddenly, she’s living at Pemberley, engaged to Mr. Darcy and fully immersed in a period drama dream come true.
But bliss turns to heartbreak when a single devastating truth threatens the world Amanda has grown to cherish. Staying would mean altering destinies and harming those she has come to love. She must return to modern-day London—but not before escaping the very people she is trying to protect.

EXCERPT (Edited for Length)
Duct tape in hand, Darcy was considering its end use. Peeling a little of the tape off the roll, he found it rather fascinating invention and immediately could think of a number of practical uses for it back at the stables of Pemberley. Darcy hoped this method would be more of a scare tactic than anything. There must be another way to get Amanda willingly back to a portal door without having to resort to such measures.
“Darcy?”
Quickly he put the roll of tape in the desk drawer and went over to the bathroom.
“I am here, my love.”
“Can I come out? I promise I will not try to run at least until checkout time.”
Lowering his head closer to the door, he spoke in mock sternness.
“I recall, madam, you vowed to not leave me and yet you did.”
“No Darcy, I remember. I said I would love you forever, which I intend to do no matter what. You assumed wrong. So, I didn’t break my promise to you.”
Recalling the context and passionate moment from which the words were said, she was correct; it was a promise kept. Admiration for her foresight in thinking filtered once again through his mind.
“Say the words then, and I will believe you.”
“I promise.”
Darcy did not move and waited.
“Okay, okay,” she sounded from behind the closed door. “I, Amanda Price, promise you, Fitzwilliam Darcy, not attempt to flee from this room until such time that we are required to vacate the premises. I’ll even seal it with a big kiss if you open the door.”
A broad grin formed on his face, as he took the chair away and opened the door.
“I was anticipating a similar conclusion. There is no better way to—”
His jaw dropped.
Inside, he expected her to be obediently subdued with piety, but instead, his eyes fell on a vision that expelled all breath and had him staring unblinkingly in manly worship.
“Good lord, woman!”
“Let me introduce you, Mr Darcy, to Victoria. Her last name is Secret. Care to say, hello?”
Backing out, he slammed the door on her question.
Stumbling awkwardly, he grabbed the chair, shoving it back under the doorknob. Breathing heavily, he put his back to the wall, hand flying up to knead the sexual pressure from what he witnessed from his tired eyes.
The squared cooling box loomed before him with its array of miniature, bottled relaxants. Dropping his hand, he moved resolutely towards it, acknowledging one reality in his fortitude in reducing the amount of drink—being prepared is impossible where Miss Amanda Price was concerned—and therefore, for medicinal purposes to give him needed strength, this exception was acceptable.
Twisting the cap off the first bottle, he raised it towards the closed door.
Cheers to her, and cheers to Miss Victoria Secret. To be sure, both worthy opponents.
Darcy downed the entire contents without blinking once.
