A dare is a dangerous thing, especially when it leads to the mouth of the abandoned Goblin Mines. For twelve-year-old Finn and his loyal friend Lily, a simple act of bravery turns into a terrifying struggle for survival when a sudden rockfall seals the entrance, trapping them in the deep, dark belly of the mountain.

Their only way out is forward, into a world they thought only existed in legends. They must navigate treacherous tunnels lit by glowing crystals, outsmart a grumpy goblin with a clever riddle, and escape the clutches of the grotesque Goblin King himself. From a wild ride in a runaway mine cart to a heart-stopping crossing over a rickety rope bridge, Finn and Lily must rely on their wits, their courage, and a series of mysterious clues left by another who tried to escape long ago. But in the darkness, where goblins feast and forges roar, will their friendship be enough to guide them back to the light?
