Reyne talks about a dream often, with everyone. He talks about going to war, fighting in battle, and winning the war for Garanthia. This is far from the truth. Although he’s not afraid to fight and plans on doing so, his dream is to ensure his survival. As an adoptee and not a blood heir he must escape the only home he remembers before the guillotine falls. He knows Mallon won’t keep any of the adoptees alive after their father dies. Mallon’s got his own heirs and and his own army. The question is, can his sister convince Reyne to take her with him or will he leave her behind? Gwenalyn is as well trained as he is, but she’s younger.
