How far can you go to protect your livelihood in the face of rampant profit driven progress? Follow the dramatic story of George Mellor and the frame-breakers of Yorkshire as they battle to preserve their way of life. Will they succeed in halting the ruthless forces opposing them?

Justice, rebellion, and the quest for truth Dive into the tumultuous world of 1812 Yorkshire in "Enoch's Hammer". Experience the drama, the courage, and the heartbreak of the Luddite uprising. Follow the Luddites' struggle, their personal lives, and the relentless pursuit by authorities.

Set in 1812,`Enoch`s Hammer` follows the story of the so-called Luddites of Yorkshire, from their first major uprising in February 1812 to the mass trial at York in January 1813 - which led to multiple hangings and transportations. It focuses on the three men who were hanged for the murder of industrialist William Horsfall: George Mellor, William Thorpe and Thomas Smith, making an imaginative reconstruction of their personal and private lives. The other major characters are Joseph Radcliffe, the Magistrate of Milnsbridge House, an obsessive persecutor of the Luddites, John Lloyd, a solicitor who brought new and devious techniques to the art of interrogation, and Lieutenant General the Hon. George Maitland who planned the military effort to suppress the Luddite movement, and who co-ordinated the York trials.
