This Ain't No Romance But It's A Damn Good Book

What did you love best about Empire?

I loved (and hated) it's savage darkness. This book was a very realistic portrayal of life in the world of the Cartel and Biker gangs.

Marianna runs on survival mode. She is beat down but not beaten. She has an ally and true love with John. But they have to hide in the shadow of that sadistic @sshole, Dornan.

This book, this trilogy, as much as I loved it, hurt my heart with its bleakness.

What other book might you compare Empire to and why?

There really is no comparison to other books. As my title says, this is not a romance, really. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started the trilogy. I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Which character – as performed by Molly Glenmore and Roger Douglas – was your favorite?

Marianna of course was my favourite and Molly Glenmore did an exceptional job narrating her. She captured all the emotion and personality of Marianna and really brought her to life.

John was also my favourite. He was a good man stuck in a sh*tty world where he had to do sh*tty things that went against his own moral code. He was just trying to do his best for his daughter and Marianna.

I absolutely adore Roger Douglas as a narrator. He narrated Dornan, John and Agent what's-his-name excellently. He has the sexiest voice and it's a shame he hasn't narrated any other books. I'd love to listen to him narrate more books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. I was so excited when I saw this was finally available on Audiobook.

Thus book is an edge of your seat page turner. My new favorite author. Can't wait for the next series.

Great End to a series

I finished this book a few days ago. I still cannot get it out of my head. This was an amazing end to a great series. I have not read the Gypsy Brothers series because it is not on audio. However, after reading this series I think I might have read with my eyes. The ending was dark, violent, and twisted. So if that is not you thing you might have a hard time reading this one. I got completely pulled in to the story. I hope that the Gypsy Brothers series become available on audible. This book will go on my fave list for 2017. The narration was great. Empire is a must read.

Wanted more of an ending.

I was really hoping for a great ending to this trilogy. This book was as good as the first two books. Filled with plot twist & suspense.
However, I have a few problems with the ending. There is an extremely disturbing scene that is worse than all the other demented acts performed by Dornan. The ending takes place in the last 15 minutes if the book. It was disappointing. Especially after the horrific act the chapter before the ending.

What a UNBELIEVABLE story from start to end! I found this series but never ever thought it was such a great throughly impressive and thought through storyline. Times I couldn't help but laugh from the unimaginable histeracal way Anna and others would freak out . It had all the emotions that a human being could possibly go through. EXTRAORDINARY AND Eye opening. I wish I found more stories like this!!!
