In this tale inspired by Cinderella (and for fans of The Last Airbender), Ellie is a firemage in a kingdom of water and windmages. Her worried stepmother warns her against showing off her powers, but when everyone at the king’s ball is in danger from a dragon, Ellie can no longer keep them secret. She works together with another firemage to save the entire kingdom.

Lydia San Andres lives and writes in the tropics, where she can be found reading and making excuses to stay out of the heat. The New York Times praised her novel Compromised into a Scandalous Marriage as a “sweet, satisfying, utterly intoxicating historical romance”.

Short and sweet

This would make a good story if it were a full length novel. The bones are there. I listened to this since it was free with Audible membership, otherwise I would likely have skipped the 4 minute story altogether.
