Resumen del Editor

Howard Bloom - called “the greatest press agent that rock and roll has ever known” by Derek Sutton, the former manager of Styx, Ten Years After, and Jethro Tull - is a science nerd who knew nothing about popular music. But he founded the biggest PR firm in the music industry and helped build or sustain the careers of our biggest rock legends, including Michael Jackson, Prince, Bob Marley, Bette Midler, Billy Joel, Billy Idol, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, David Byrne, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Queen, Kiss, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Run DMC, ZZ Top, Joan Jett, Chaka Khan, and 100 more.

What was he after? He was on a hunt for the gods inside of you and me. Einstein, Michael Jackson & Me is Bloom’s story - the strange tale of a scientific expedition into the dark underbelly of science and fame where new myths and movements are made.

The gods inside

Bloom has The ability to illustrate lessons in life with absurdly different examples and experiences much like MacGyver would use a host of random pieces to create a complex tool

The author I met while walking my dog

As you stroll around the park walking your dog, you see people among you enjoying the splendor of the park as well. A casual nod to someone as they pet your dog turns into a fascinating encounter. This amiable man clad all in black was a tender, soft spoken gentleman who I exchanged pleasantries with. I do the obligatory inquiry on what he does for a living. What I found out was a life of star studded encounters in the music industry and his role as shaman in making those musical legends. Not only did I have the privilege of reading his exploits, I can continue learning the intrigues of his life by simply putting a leash on my dog and proceed to the park. A life, a fascinating read.

Fascinating

I find many things about this amazing work objectionable. Personally, I find Mr. Bloom as talented, impressive, and interesting as I find him infuriating and possibly repetitive (in the book's theme). So to give this book a 4-star rating is a big deal. It could just as easily have earned a 5-star rating. Frankly, I love the information, Bloom's experience, and much of his insight. There is certainly no argument for the missing, final star other than personal bias. And despite that bias, I would certainly recommend this book. In fact, I am positive I'll go back to enjoy this work again.

It could have been

Yes it could have been a good story but it never materialized. A lot of promises so I was waiting but the story has never happened. One thing I have learned there are a lot of assholes in the music industry except the author So I went and googled him to see who is H.Bloom The first thing I see is Howard dressed in a Russian communist outfit happy like a kid and proudly parading in NYC WTF He claims that he is a lefty but come on. Mr Howard. Communist killed as many people as Fascists did. For the same reasons people do not dress as them and then run around NYC Maybe someone in your family was killed by Hitler but mine was by Communists so have some common sense Overall I would not recommend this book since it doesn’t have any story in it However the lector was fantastic and that is why I got through it and give some better rating

The book of soul and name dropping

The book was a fascinating insight into the world of music and inner workings of the music business. I would have preferred more insight into the soul and less name dropping by the author. I appreciate the objective and honest opinion of HB pertaining to the underlying motivations of the dishonesty of the press and media.
