Este título utiliza narración de voz virtual

Voz Virtual es una narración generada por computadora para audiolibros..
She saves lives with steady hands. He takes them with deadly precision.

In the war-torn jungles of Corazón, Dr. Lauren Valentino runs a field hospital under siege—treating the wounded, protecting the innocent, and risking everything to hold the line. Knowing the danger is getting critical, Lauren’s family sends Citadel Solutions security expert Logan Kane to get her out.

One doctor should be no problem for a battled-hardened Marine who specializes in impossible missions—even when the mission doesn’t want to be rescued and a hurricane is closing in.

They clash instantly.
The heat between them? Instant too.

When communication is cut off and killers close in, Lauren and Logan are forced into the jungle. The storm’s not the only thing hunting them. Survival means moving fast and finding some way of trusting each other.

In a world where death is always only one step behind, love might be the risk that breaks them both.

Or saves them.

The storyline and the character development was excellent but the narration ruined it. AI narration simply does not work. I kept getting thrown out of the story with the word apostrophe coming out of nowhere several times and mispronounced words like wind (as in wind up toy) instead of wind as in hurricanes. I wondered who was speaking some of the times (men and women sounded the same) and what they were trying to say. But the story kept me going. Great writer but cheapskate and/or lazy for using AI narration.

Great Story Bad Narration

Good story but never a fan of virtual voice. It detracted from the story. But the action and the doctors strength made it a good read. I dislike authors that make the heroine weak and useless in their own rescue.

Pretty good

This was my first time reading this author’s work and it was an exciting adventure from start to finish. Too bad the virtual voice just wrecked it with so many glitches.

Great riveting story but crappy virtual voice.

The narration on this book is pretty good for Virtual Voice. It detracts some from the story, but it's better than some books read with Virtual Voice. The story itself is well-written with great well developed characters and lots of intense suspense and action. I do love this author and the way he writes. This book is SO entertaining! Great!!!

Great story, pretty good narration for Virtual

I really don’t like the digital narration. Actors are able to use different voices to indicate who is speaking, which is helpful in audio books and they use appropriate inflections which the digital narration does not. I will avoid digital narration in the future.

Digital narration is not good in my opinion.

AI too stilted. Hard to differentiate between characters. Inflection all wrong many times. No accents when speaking other languages. Not worth paying for AI narration.

DNF because of AI narration

You know how some theater/movie reviews will say that the content was great but the acting was so bad it ruined the content? (And even occasionally the opposite is true, brilliant actors can save tepid or bad writing)

My experience with this book was similar to the first statement above.

The story might have been ok. It was simply too hard to get past the terrible virtual narration. Sure, it wasn’t a “robotic” voice, but it only had the barest of inflections and pauses making it sound stilted and forced. I gave it a good try with both the female and male voices but alas, it was a total bust.

Now I can see where virtual voice would be find for some non-fiction works. Biographies, ‘business’ and other self-help-y stuff, or how-to books.
But I’m firmly staying far far away from virtual narration involving any sort of fiction or memoir. Maybe someday I’ll be desperate and my bar will dip low enough to tolerate virtual voice for fiction. Or maybe it will get significantly better.

But for now - hard pass. Even if the last book of a fiction series I’ve been reading could be “included” in my subscription and not cost a credit or $, I wouldn’t subject myself to it. I’d get it in print.

Below sub-standard narration grossly destroys story
