This sequel to "Scent of Damnation" focuses on Mallory, mysterious and immortal. She has walked the Earth for almost thirty millennia, feeding on one human weakness - we are ruled by our biology.

Born when mankind wandered aimlessly, hunting for food and survival, she has watched human civilization rise, fall and rise again, throughout the ages.

And each step of the way she has sought to understand us, find some meaning in our all too brief lives.

Here are presented four brief glimpses of her early life, composed by her late companion, Daniel, from her birth, through the long lost first human city of Ur, Ancient Greece and Rome at the beginnings of the Caesarian Imperium.

She is among us, but not of our kind.
