In ancient African tradition, every new soul is welcomed at birth as an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind gift to their community. It is believed that each person carries a unique expression that nourishes their community in magical ways beyond ordinary knowing.
Duma is a boy born into the Himba tribe in Africa. He grows up learning his unique value…his “soul song.” Unfortunately, his village falls on hard times and the value of each individual’s soul song is threatened to be forgotten… until a magical tree whispers a sound which helps Duma remember.
The poetic storytelling of Jenny-Rebecca Lewis lovingly invites listeners into the healing power of a world where authentic personal expression—our “soul song” generates a wellbeing which endures all times, and where even the simplest harmony with nature can alchemize pain.
