Avery is a sixteen-year-old sophomore finding her way in a new school and new environment in Ledyard Meadow, Wyoming from far flung East River, Connecticut. She's shy and soft spoken but from within the shadows where she hides herself and her secret, her sketching and creativity bring color to her life. When she decides to watch the Ledyard Meadow High gymnastics team at practice for new subjects to sketch, she discovers Chloe.

Chloe is a confident, poised, energetic gymnast on the high school gymnastics team. Behind the appearance of perfection though, is a sixteen-year-old girl dealing with tremendous pressure. Scholarships, college plans, parents.... Chloe feels overwhelmed and wants nothing more than to fly and feel freedom. When she spots Avery watching and sketching her with intense interest, something new and unexpected happens for the both of them.

An artist... a gymnast.... one shy with secrets... another outgoing but struggling to fly free. Together, they quickly form a bond and discover a love and affection others can't seem to understand or allow them. Together, they try and weather the conflicts and emotions of coming out of the closet. The harder it is to be themselves in their very conservative world, the stronger their bond seems to get... and the more challenging it becomes to stay drawn together.
