In DragonSin: Descendants of Twilight Book 1 by C.M. Surowiec Jr., Cymm returns home to find that three dragons have destroyed his village and killed many people, including his family. Cymm believed in the healing power of Terazhan and used his own gift to heal a farmer that had survived to find out what had happened and how the survivors had avoided certain death. The dragons want to catch the priests while they are performing the Acceleration Ritual and will do everything in their power to impress the Queen rather than take a chance on her making an example of them as she had with other dragons. Why do the dragons want to be near when the Acceleration Ritual is performed? How did the people in Cymm’s village survive while his own family perished? Why would Terazhan allow such a tragedy to happen?
The powerful characters keep the reader engrossed in this action-packed story. I love the different angles of protection, revenge, and retribution that set off battles through a fast-paced plot. I absolutely loved the 'hang onto your seat' kind of suspense that kept me turning the pages and wondering what kind of power will be unleashed next. I recommend DragonSin by C.M. Surowiec Jr. to anyone who enjoys an epic fantasy that has a little bit of everything from family to fun, adventure, and action. This book is a must-read for teens and young adults, and I can’t wait to read the next book in this exciting series.
