Acerca de esta escucha
Critically acclaimed novelist John Shors’ travels in Asia add texture to this affecting tale of two Americans in Vietnam. A tale of sacrifice, rebirth, and above all inspiration, Dragon House connects with readers on the most human of all levels.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

John Shors never disappoints
Dragon House is a beautiful story of friendship, love, and the hope we still have in a broken world. I love how the author brings the people and places to life. I feel like I know the characters personally.

A Story that Sticks with You
I listened to John Shore's Audible recording of Dragon House on my way to Vietnam. I was pleasantly acquainted with the country due to Shore's descriptions that I found to be accurate and alluring. He shed light on the country's progress it has made with its long awaited independence, the happiness of its people, and also those left behind...vulnerable homeless children. Shores beautifully blends story lines in Dragon House. A modern Veteran suffering with disabilities travels to a country that recovered from senseless war to find meaning and recovery through children that have suffered an even harsher existence. For readers and listeners who need more joy than books such as A Fine Balance, yet seek the same excellence in writing and accuracy, I highly recommend Dragon House.
