All Sig Sauer wanted was to have a quiet night riding the elevated trains through the city. Sig is a criminal trial attorney who decided to leave it all and go homeless for the last two years. He had a reason. He found his last client was paid to take out a man who was in the way of Cyrus Ward, a connected figure in the city. The only way Sig could find dirt on Cyrus was to become invisible, going homeless was perfect.

After two years, all Sig has on Cyrus is a lot of innuendo. A 2am Sig is alone in the car when two men get on. One murders the other, turns on Sig, but Sig succeeds in taking him out. He leaves the train, calls it in, slips into the night. He soon finds in the press the man murdered first was a bag man for Cyrus Ward's failed recent political campaign. He believes the killer was sent to do the two – the money man who was a sexaholic and stole cash to buy his habit, stick Sig for the crime. Investigations from Homicide uncover a set of ironic twists and ties.
