going to ballet and wanted a full rich version of the story in modern day english. the narration was great. im ready for the ballet! thank you

Fun Classic

had to read this in middle school....I just listened to the audible version and it was fun. The reader made it especially fun with his raspy voice that matched the characters to a "t".

Enjoyable!

I had attempted to read an unabridged version of Don Quixote.. I found it amusing, but hard to get through. I've always intended to read it though. This abridged version was exactly what I needed. It was very enjoyable and easy to get through. I did not love the narrator's choices though. He mispronounces Quixote almost every time he says it. That was irritating, but I overall think this is a good version.

Great way in

This adapted version is a great way to get into a formidable classic and enjoy the experience. I am not an expert of course but I think I understand the timelessness of the story and the personality revealed. I can converse intelligently about the themes.

Great adaptation / wonderful narration

The adaptation for modern listeners was really well done - the prose was understandable while maintaining a tone that felt legitimate. Secondly, and equally important - the narration was really well done - I will hear the narrator’s voice in my head the next time I read an excerpt. THIS IS THE VERSION TO LISTEN TO!

Very enjoyable

I liked the performance. The shortened telling was very enjoyable. I found myself laughing and listening closely to the adventures of the great man.

The narrator was great. He seemed genuinely interested in trying to get this extremely long story down to its most important parts for listeners like me to enjoy. Excellent story and amazing it was written over 300 years ago.

too streamlined to appreciate Cervantes brilliance

I can only imagine the challenge of cramming 1,000+ pages into 4 hours... this version though is a miss in my opinion
