Resumen del Editor

Professor George Litefoot: the eminent pathologist who advises the police in some of their grisliest cases. Henry Gordon Jago: the master of ceremonies at the Alhambra Theatre. These are two very different men from contrasting strata in society who became firm friends and collaborators after their adventure with the Doctor and Leela battling the evil Weng-Chiang.

Some years later, Jago and Litefoot have defeated dangerous denizens of the daemonic darkness together. They have stood side by side against threats to the British Empire. But when a body is found on the banks of the River Thames and Litefoot's post mortum reveals that it is actually a highly detailed wooden mannequin, their most dangerous adventure begins. Dr Tulp has masterminded a deadly scheme, Jack Yeovil and his murderous gang plan to live forever, and only Jago and Litefoot can stop them....

An entertaining throwback to Dr. Who 1977

A very entertaining throwback to the 1977 days of Dr. Who. How thrilling that Big Finish thought to revisit two much loved characters from the Philip Hinchcliffe era of Dr Who. Christopher Benjamin and Trevor Baxter step right into their old roles as Jago and Lightfoot, brilliantly sending us back in time to a period after the meet the Doctor in the The Talons of Weng-Chiang. Andy Lane also does a fabulous job writing a script that embodies the heart and soul of the original Who world, while giving us something new to sink into. I'm excited to know there is even more of Jago and Lightfoot in the Big Finish Productions archive. Well done by all involved.

Off To A Great Start!

After so many years after their celebrated roles in the Doctor Who TV Story "The Talons of Weng Chiang", it was great to have Jago and Litefoot back together again! It was truly amazing how they were able to step back into their roles as if it was just yesterday. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of a full 5 was that since the making of this "Pilot" for the series, there have been even better episodes, but this is good. Jago and Litefoot work best to me when they have an arch villain to go up against and while Dr. Tulp was interesting, I wish his character could have been a bit more developed but this would have necessitated a longer story and there were probably budget considerations. The story itself was very creative but ended quite all of a sudden so I wish there had been more buildup to the final destruction of the "Mahogany Men". Nevertheless, it was a lot of fun and I highly recommend this as a great starting point for the series.

Jago and Litefoot return!

The characters of Jago and Litefoot return for the first time since they were introduced in the Doctor Who story, The Talons of Weng Chiyang in 1977. And it's like it was yesterday. The characters pick up right where we left them and that is wonderful. They truly come across as good friends who share a history and kindly grouse at each other. Here we meet them as they stumble into a bizarre mystery worthy of their Doctor Who history. This also sets up, albeit without anyone realizing it at the time, the first series of Jago and Litefoot adventures on audio. I would be hard pressed to not smile when they start their good natured sparring. I suspect that you will enjoy it too. My only quibble is that this was rather short and, had the series not happened, we wouldn't have closure to the storyline.
