Starts slow, but becomes great after all.

There is no question about it, Leslie Kohler is a great writer !
The problem for me is that I’m totally not into romantic books and I would have put it down if I have not promised to review the audiobook which I’m glad that I did because after all that romantic stuff the action began and this book got everything in it including detectives, secret society and some cool twists.
Using Annika Connor to narrate the book was an excellent decision, together they created a beautiful audiobook !

Even so that I’m not into erotic books, this one is much much more and I because of this I can,
Fully recommend it for all.


I believe that my review is honest even so that I got the audiobook for free.

Entertaining and suspenseful

I enjoyed the suspense in this book. Shady, downright nasty characters mingling with high society. Murder, greed and who is really who they seem to be? I kept listening to find out. Some humor, mystery, several twists and turns and controlled cat fights make this an entertaining book. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Suspense, mystery and romance

Both the author and narrator were new to me. The premise of this book appealed to me. I enjoyed the twists, but found parts of the story confusing with reference to travelers and gypsies. I enjoyed the imagery in this book. The audiobook was professionally recorded and didn't have any quality issues. The narrator added to my enjoyment with her enthusiasm and performance. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

So good!!!

My husband and I listened to this audio together on a road trip. He's super picky and we actually both loved this story. Great writing and a good amount of suspense and mystery. Narration was really well done! We'll be checking out ore by this author and narrator for our next road trip!

Disposable Lives

Maggie suspects her husband of cheating and is on a mission to find the truth. Only the next day he ends up dead. And shes at the top of the suspect list because she has been MIA all day. Now shes dealing with a rich spoiled cop, who acts like a brat. The story will keep you on your toes with twist and turns wondering who is in this scam and who can be trusted. WHEN HIGH SOCIETY GOES WRONG... GREAT STORY!

I really liked this book - very entertaining, liked the characters, great story/plot and great narration, really brought the characters to life. Great fun mystery to read & enjoy. Loved Maggie! I'd recommend this to others, and very much enjoyed it.

Travellers? Gypsies?

Maggie Leman's life as high society in Newport Beach abruptly changes. She finds evidence that her husband may be having an affair. After confronting him and hearing his side of the story, he is killed before being able to verify it. Maggie becomes the main suspect. The plot thickens and is packed with thrilling twists-and-turns and the unique, colorful characters of the secret society of the Scottish Travellers. I found this an entertaining story.

Really interesting story

I liked the way author describes every moment in details, therefore makes it easier for listener to understand and envision the story

Entertaining Mystery adventure.

With a well developed plot and believable characters this Mystery contains adventure topped off with a good sense of humor.

Like every good Audio Book a great performance by the Narrator is the Cherry on top that closes the deal.

HOW ENTERTAINING!!!! Must listen! Amazing narrator!

I must admit going in I thought this would be some cheesy plot about rich wives killing their husbands. BUT NO! You must check it out. The suspense is there and the narrator Annika Connor commits to each character voice faithfully! So you can visualize who these characters are from personality to clothes to voice confidence. I will be looking up both writer and narrator to find more books by them! I hope you enjoy! I sure did!
