Sometimes, life doesn’t hand you anything easy.
Melody was definitely struggling to accept everything life and thrown at her, from her parent's death to living with her sadistic aunt who bears the world's biggest grudge against her teenage charge. Not that Melody could do anything about that. Just like she can't stop her cousin and his friends from bullying her at school.
She has nobody to help her change her circumstances anymore. Teachers at her school could care less. The adults in her home are all intent on making her life a living hell as often as possible. She’s used to being a slave to her aunt's demands, cooking, cleaning, and staying out of the way, all while attempting to keep her head down and her grades up.
Too bad her cousin doesn’t just have it out for her, he wants to destroy Melody completely so she never dares enter his life again. He gets the chance to get rid of her once and for all when one of his friends finds an ancient book with a ritual for summoning demons. All they need is a virgin to sacrifice, and they’ll be granted their heart's desires.
To say that little escape went sideways pretty quickly would be an understatement. Instead of some average soul-sucking demon, they managed to catch the attention of Lucifer himself, and he won't be denied his sacrifice.
Now, the ruler of hell is out to steal Melody, a high school nobody who just wants to disappear, heart, body, and soul, whether she agrees to his proposition or not.
