Awesome!

I read up to most of these books!! I was engaged!! Less violence!! More adventures and exploration!! Science and engineering for the benefit of a humanity via a corporation!! Run by one man!! Commissioned to uplift all humanity and other galactic intelligent beings!! These books about Justice are worth buying in print as well!!

A bit juvenile

OK I have read all 10 hoping it would get better but author chose to put in too much juvenile stuff...hard to believe a 12 y.o. is starship commander with teen angst...and she never grew up.

Low quality narration

Narrator mispronounced many words, for example “ensign”. Performance was monotone and dull. Plot was mediocre and predictable, filled with “just so” moments and without any real character development. Not worth the money.

very heavy racsim and ecominic harping

not my most favorite title in the series these books are already short and having the author go on a social justice rant like im a teenager who needs to be told how to treat others with respect is annoying

still a great series

Keep hoping the simplistic bias will lessen.

This is basically a good series: but one of its continuous memes is bias. An important topic but it has gotten old, not just because of the frequency, but also because it's over simplified. For example: at one point father-daughter are discussing racial biases and how there is no longer any justification for these. Next moment, and frequently throughout the book, the women are complaining about how dumb and obnoxious men are and how they are to be assumed so until proven otherwise. Tasty toys but ...

How about some more nuance? Take China as an example. Racism is part of the culture and laws. Anyone dealing with them needs to take that into consideration. You have Islam where the religion is the law and your rights are determined by your sex, religion, and ancestry. There is also cultural inertia: where prior biases have been institutionalized in common behaviors and advantages/disadvantages. One group knows that things are unfair, which justifies ignoring laws and morals, which justifies assumption on the part of others, ...

The author is beginning to explore "justifiable" biases based on genetics. So far only as applied to aliens. Not as applied to humans. Jordan Peterson has explored this topic and raises many interesting issues. It's a dangerous topic but if the author is going to continue making it a centerpiece: don't oversimplify and assume away the difficulties in change.

Sucks like the vacuum of space

This series had a decent start. But unfortunately has become a sci-fi book that is more about social justice than about a good story. No real science but tons of woke.
