I am hooked...

I am glad that I took a chance on this series. I hope that the next book will be out soon. This book kept me wanting more... can't wait for the next book.

It is like two different books

The first half and second half of this book are so different. If you have trouble getting into it, you may like the second half better so stick with it.

excellent. Great storyline it had a lot of twists and turns which always kept you on the edge of your seat one of his best books

Don't know what I liked best.
The lack of a narrator for the female characters.

Maybe steer away from his earlier novels.

Finally some romance in a Baldacci book

This story gripped me from the start and I was pleased to see that at least one of Baldacci’s characters got a chance to make love to a woman. As good as their night was though, Shaw treated Reggie like dirt the rest of the book. A good book but I’m a little ticked at Shaw for a while and will have to read another series for a break. I guess I’m not fond of dirtbag heroes!

Deliver Us from Evil

Very well done! Not the same, as the chair gripping King & Maxwell....but nonetheless, packed with information and though provoking concepts, as “evil” takes on new human dimensions. Is science right? Can DNA unspool in response to the environment? It has led me into new thought territory. Those issues have been skirted, as we watch Shaw in a new light. This is an excellent read.

Another great one from Baldacci

Great story, great action, great dialogue. As a person who always figures “it” out before the author gets there, it was truly nice to be surprised by a jaw dropping twist.

The best part is the fact that you weren't just waiting for the excitement. It continued to give you allot of suspenseful action.

Yes ... It gave you allot of action

Just when you think the book is ending it opens up for more great adventure!

This book was all over a good read. i didn't realize this was the second in a sequel but will be checking out the previous book

Baldacci is Terrific! John Shaw is Wonderful

Would you listen to Deliver Us from Evil again? Why?

Absolutely. It sets the stage for all the books that follow. John Shaw is the strong, silent mystery man. He is the man every other man wants to be and his love for Anna breaks my heart. I mean, we know he can't have the complication of a wife and family in his line of work but the reader hopes that Frank will release him some day. Maybe if I listen again, the ending will be different....just kidding. I loved the story.

What other book might you compare Deliver Us from Evil to and why?

Whole Truth also has John Shaw as main character. Baldacci is one of, if not, the best thriller writers around and these two books are excellent. I think I like his Camel Club series best but all are good.

Which character – as performed by Ron McLarty – was your favorite?

John Shaw was my favorite but Frank was right there. Even though Frank is supposed to be controlling Shaw, he cares about him. All the characters seem real as read by Mr. McLarty.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction. I liked the intrigue. I had read it in text when it was first published.

Anyone who likes thriller themes will enjoy any of Baldacci's books. Just get one and start listening. There is a list on amazon.com of the books publication date when may be helpful to new readers. I'd start at the beginning and just enjoy the listen.

another great book.

as usual the book starts with a bang. The ideas are unique, the problems seem too big to handle and the story hurled you forward. Yet the ending was inconsistent with the intelligent, battle hardened Shaw. Well worth the read.
