The False Promise of A Speedy Trial

After writing and speaking about constitutional rights violations for nearly a decade, my own saga taught me that the 6th Amendment’s guarantee of a speedy trial is entirely meaningless. After being falsely accused of a disturbing crime in 2023, I was tortured for two years while waiting for a trial in purgatory. My marriage suffered, my toddler spent his life with a semi-present dad, and we were forced to sell our home and move far away, starting a new life. Justice is not a right in the Police State of America, and you can wait forever to even get to court.
