Ancient evil arrived in a bank of fog and settled over the town of Wray, Colorado. Tom Benton lost everything to the evil that lives inside the fog. On the first night, Tom held out until the sun rose to chase away the vampire who lives in the fog. The monster vanished with a promise. Croatoan’s promise was to return the next night to finish what he started. Over the centuries, no one has survived his evil, his complete destruction.

Tom has escaped the horrific plans of Croatoan once with the aid of Sin, a teenaged boy who also lost everything. The consequences of victory were severe though. One bite from his son caused Tom to suffer the ravages of Croatoan's disease.

As night falls, Tom and Sin can see the shroud of fog on the horizon. It returns to them, seeking what was at first denied.

Tom waits for Croatoan’s return, but he has a plan. He doesn’t care about his own survival; he only wants to live long enough to see the end of the ancient vampire.

Both Croatoan and Tom find fuel in their rage, their hatred of one another. Tom knows that anger and fear are the emotions that Croatoan craves, but he cannot help himself. The losses he has suffered have brought about the end of everyone he has ever loved.

Will Tom’s boiling fury fuel him to victory or cause a painful death at the hands of Croatoan?

Tom waits with Sin, watching the fog arrive on the last night of their epic battle, swearing an end to the arriving evil.

Croatoan arrives, but never alone. He brings others with him who are as intent on seeing Tom and Sin’s death.
