They were told it was for safety. For order. For the good of the country. But inside the frozen lobbies, where vending machines hummed louder than conversation, a darker truth took root—one clipboard, one quota, one vanished neighbor at a time.

Dear Mr. Orwell, Dear Mr. Huxley, is a chilling work of speculative fiction grounded in the very real erosion of privacy, autonomy, and morality in modern surveillance states. Told through stark, immersive vignettes, it examines a world where every product tracks you, every app reports you, and every officer is handed a target instead of a reason. From body cams that catch too much truth to RFID chips that follow you home, this isn’t the future—it’s the present, only sharper.

Much like "The Twilight Zone" or "The Black Mirror" this book can be read in any order you choose, and is a series of unrelated short stories and vignettes. This book offers no comfort, but it does offer clarity.

Reviews For "Dear Mr. Orwell, Dear Mr. Huxley,"

★★★★★ "Some letters hit way too close to home."
Reading this felt like sitting across from someone who’s finally saying what we’ve all been thinking. It brings up real fears about the future, but in a way that feels like a warning from a friend. The letters are short, but they hit hard. Some made me laugh out loud, others made me stop and stare at the wall for a bit. It really makes you think about what freedom means and how easy it is to give it away. I liked how it bounced between funny and serious without ever feeling boring. You will walk away feeling more awake than before.

★★★★★ "Powerful and apt."
Both scary as the originals and very sad. I appreciated the read while also was made sad. A perspective that needs to be read, but also more than that reviewed against our own actions. I really enjoyed this even if was also somewhat saddening.

This work is an excellent work of speculative fiction; unlike other speculative fiction writers such as Atwood, this book seems to be more feasible for current reality that her works.
