Why do some people choose to bully others? What if the person who chooses to bully needs some help? What if they are lonely or scared? Is there a way to help them to make kinder choices...? Dear Bully is an important addition to the 'Positive Mindset For Kids' series as it explores the possible reasons that some children may choose to hurt others with actions, words, or deeds. It is a conversation starter on what it means to hurt others and how detrimental it is to all involved. With suggestions and activities in the back of the book, Dear Bully is an essential tool in working towards healing the bully to prevent more future victims from being negatively affected.

This book is exactly what my thoughts about bullies and bullying have always been but put down so simply and clearly. This is an amazing tool to use with children of all ages, it holds a message for the bully that is so kind, gentle and understanding and it also acknowledges the feelings of those who have suffered bullying. Its got some great advice and pointers and tips at the end and it was so refreshing to read. I see this book as a valuable tool for families and for anyone who works with children. I think the approach is awesome and insightful and really makes you feel like your feelings matter like the author is personally there with you. I'm thinking of buying the series of books as a gift for friends and family members who have young children, I wish these had been around when my children were younger.

Dear Bully, is a wonderful children’s book, abounding in grace for a child experiencing unkindness and the one being unkind. The author shares through this story tools for both parties in the equation, demonstrating great compassion. She invites us to consider the reasons behind the unkind behaviors that children demonstrate. This book provides guidance on how to encourage positive changes and thinking patterns in both the children being unkind and those experiencing it. The end of the book has resources and discussion prompts for parents, educators, counselors or anyone who works with children. The illustrations are beautifully done by a young girl, who has brought to life great visuals, propelled by her own experiences. I highly recommend this book!
Reviewed in Australia 🇦🇺 on 15 December 2020What an amazing act of compassion and understanding! We all feel that "mama bear" surge when our kids are hurt or bullied, but do we look at the situation from the other side? And if your child is that bully, what a great way to have that conversation with them to find out what is bothering them deep down.
