In hopes of avoiding the rurales, federales, and el jefe de policia of a nearby pueblo, Robichaud doesn’t take the main route leading out of here. Rather, much to the strong objections of his prisoners, he and they strike out across the open desert. That might have been a mistake. Not only do they encounter both rurales and federales, but a few Yaqui Indians he hadn’t figured on. If they survive the trip across the desert, he has another surprise for the two prisoners.
