Honestly, I was disappointed

I suspect it was a case of high expectations based on liking his other books, but this one seemed as though it were general reminiscences lumped together to fulfill a book proposal.

Droll wit

Not for anyone, but those of us that love the droll wit of the British middle class will like it very much. Cruised the Danube a few years ago and his take was familiar with quirky twists.
