Read it once, many years ago. Now listened and enjoyed it again, as much as I remembered.

Favorite book, favorite performance!

Such a rich, complex yet simple story. The characters are each splendid from Pegity to Uriah Heap. I was so sad when it was over as I shall miss all the idiosyncrasies of the characters, even Steerforth!

Great story with the best voice

Dickens at his best with rich characters, emotion, captivating descriptions, magnificent use of words. Narrator is excellent at capturing inflection and personality. A classic that changes you for the better!

Story of our Life

What did you love best about David Copperfield?

Through the characters in "David Copperfield", we see ourselves. David, from his youth to adulthood, goes through difficult times but proves that the times are not what define us, but our reactions to those times. He is not without fault - finding teenage love in Dora (but remaining true to her, even once he finally figures out she has the keen intellect of a door knob), placing trust where it is not necessarily deserved (but adjusting course when he learns better), and forgiving those not necessarily deserving of forgiveness (his aunt), but in so doing, helping them become their better selves. We see also greed, avarice, hatred, spite, and envy. The story is some times a bit slow, but it is worth the read.

This touching saga, delineating the life story David Copperfield, is not to be missed. Take time over it. Like the pathways of the human experience, it is a tale of twists and turns, defeat and triumph.
It is with such gratitude that I savor yet another marvelous tale from this most remarkable of writers, Charles Dickens.

Excellent narration, loved all the characters. If you've never read Dickens, all are classics. Enjoy!

I want be loved like Emily, Dora, and Agnes!

The British accent in the narrator.....is imperative to the story. His "voices" of the different characters, veritably bring the missive to LIFE!
This is the second time l have had DC read to me. lt is one of my absolute favorite novels.
The Murdstones make my skin crawl.
The Pegitys make my heart soar.
l love the Micawbers and their devotion to one another.
Uriah Heep and James Steerforth are two of the finest written VILLAINS in all of literature.
l have yet to read a novel where the main character has so many nicknames!
