Resumen del Editor

This is book two in Fisher's Autism Trilogy. The first book is Through Fisher's Eyes: An Autism Adventure.

In Dark Spectrum, Fisher and his band of autistic Behira warriors must once again battle Jonah and the Choshek tribe. Most of this adventure takes place at the Gettysburg Battlefield, in the not-too-distant future. The battlefield is in terribly neglected condition, and the warriors meet in much the same way as the original 1863 battle. This story is filled with Pennsylvania ghosts, demons, Civil War history, and folklore. The title, Dark Spectrum, refers to Jonah and his experiences as an autistic child who never had a loving family. Jonah is the main focus of this book.

In the first chapter, we see him in prison. He has joined forces with a a monstrous demon by the name of Belial. Belial is capable of shape-shifting into a variety forms, including a giant winged demon with horns and hooves. He enlists Jonah as his general and forces him to lead his army of prisoners against Fisher's army at historic Gettysburg. Fisher is able to enlist thousands of ghosts of his own, including Civil War veterans, Native Americans, and many more.

This is another story that is aimed at middle school age listeners and teachers. The author, a former middle school teacher and autism dad, tested these books on middle school students. They truly enjoyed the stories and learned about autism, tolerance, acceptance, and kindness. This book is also available in the full trilogy set, in one volume. While it's intended for younger listeners, many adults have enjoyed this set of books. Please give it a try.
