Having lost all respect was hard, but nothing compared to Connor's intense sorrow of losing his betrothed. Now, as the law states, once Connor's father passes on, Connor will inherit the position of hangman. His life comes crashing down even harder when, right after his father dies, Eleanor appears at his doorstep begging him for something that he has no right to give.

Can a man make a decision from his heart when he knows his answer could haunt him forever?
