Resumen del Editor

As the head writer for Shadowbox Live, a theater company in Columbus, Ohio, Jimmy Mak often mines his life for comedic material. Now, for the first time, he's compiled his thoughts on those silly, serious, and sappy moments in one place.

Daddies Shouldn't Breakdance takes us on a highly entertaining tour of the high points in Mak's life: his first day on the planet (what kind of monster would give birth to a child two days before Christmas?), his exploits as a secret young superhero, his experiences as a father raising charming but rambunctious daughters, and more.

Mak packs in the laughs but also makes room for solemn and poignant observations about the state of the world and the difficult times his own family has experienced. Mak's daughters, Riley and Roz, star not only in some of his stellar stories and sweet poems but also in their own section dedicated to their observations about life.

Daddies Shouldn't Breakdance is perfect for the breakdancing fathers of the world who follow their dreams, even when those dreams are embarrassing and based on an obsessive knowledge of '80s dance movies!

A little bit of everything.

Funny, heartwarming and well, human. I loved that Jimmy brought in friends to help narrate some of the stories. I have been to Shadowbox live, where Jimmy is head writer, many times. This book reflects what I have seen of his comedy.
it is nice to see a little bit more into the life of a person you admire.
I highly recommend this book to help you remember when life was a little less serious and to laugh at yourself (and Jimmy Mak) a little bit more.

Funny and Full of Laughter

All of the different stories were great. Listening was enjoyable and there was little downtime.
