FROM RELIGION TO RELATIONSHIP

Divine Shift highlights the stories of five authors who God challenged and ultimately delivered from Religion to Relationship. Religion is a set of manmade rules, intertwined within the faith. In religion, however, there are sometimes more rules than faith. After all, the two are always at odds with each other. The rule says this is the way it is. It has always been done this way, and it must always be done the same way. Sometimes those rules cause invisible wounds. The problem with those invisible wounds is on the surface; they can be ignored that they are there until that same spot is pricked, and then, the wound will erupt. Sometimes, the eruption is what some have labeled as “church hurt,” meaning something might have been distasteful, downright wrong, or just plain ignorance that happened in a church building. There is a tendency to relate those incidents to the church at large, and sometimes even to God Himself. Faith is just the opposite. It does not need rules, only believe, hope, love, and a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Lean into the small window of these stories and watch the transformation.
